Film Session: Commanders rookie WR Luke McCaffrey’s physical toughness is a rare trait

The Washington Commanders selected Rice Owls wide receiver Luke McCaffrey in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. McCaffrey heads to the NFL with just two seasons of wide receiver experience at the college level, playing quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers before transferring to Rice and playing quarterback for one season in 2021.

McCaffrey still needs to understand the full scope of playing the wide receiver position, but he brings to the Washington Commanders' offense a rare brand of physical toughness, especially coming into the league with not the biggest of frames.
